What is SORH all about?
In May 1999 Caco Three, Inc. filed a preliminary plan for Peakview Mobile Home Park,a 275 unit trailer park on 140 acres between Route 94 and Idaville-York Springs Road, outside the borough of York Springs with the Huntington Township Supervisors.
On June 24, 1999 Adams County Office of Planning and Development reviewed the plan, ACPC#091-99, and noted many concerns. The plan was rejected by Huntington Township Supervisors.
CACO sued, and in March 2004, Commonwealth Court reversed a decision of the lower court that sided with the Huntington Township Supervisors. The court ordered the township supervisors to approve the preliminary plan citing lack of zoning.

.The court found for the developer because a zoning ordinance had yet to be approved by the township when the plan was submitted in 1999. Save Our Rural Heritage (SORH) is fighting to stop the trailer park because it will destroy the wetlands, ruin the rural way of life, and dramatically alter the landscape of the Fruit Belt, a region deemed eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

SORH is a non-profit, citizen advocacy organization formed to protect the historic Adams County Fruit Belt from harmful development; to promote civic and social interests of its members; and to advance community welfare in Adams County, Pennsylvania (particularly Huntington Township and Bermudian Springs School District).
